“Travel ‘Appy” as HMSHost Expands B4 YOU BOARD™ to Chicago O’Hare
Unique technology is first mobile app in airports for ordering food and having it delivered to travelers during busiest travel season of the year
CHICAGO—Along with excitement of seeing family and friends over a traditional turkey dinner, Thanksgiving marks the start of the month-long holiday travel season. Global airport restaurateur HMSHost brings smartphone technology to the rescue of travelers who have claimed a seat in a busy gate hold area instead of stopping for a bite to eat before boarding the plane.
Now available at Chicago O’Hare International Airport, the B4 YOU BOARD mobile app offers travelers the option of having a hot, fresh meal delivered directly to them at their gate. They also have the option to order in advance for pick-up at select locations throughout the airport. HMSHost is ready to make the travelers’ day better during the busy Thanksgiving travel season and beyond.
“We look forward to providing a great experience for millions of passengers at Chicago’s airports during the busy holiday travel season,” said Rosemarie S. Andolino, Commissioner of the Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA). “The exceptional service and convenience offered by HMSHost’s B4 YOU BOARD app is a great addition to the many amenities offered to travelers at O’Hare International Airport.”
According to the online travel booking site Orbitz, the three busiest airports between November 23 and November 27 are predicted to be Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), Chicago O’Hare (ORD) and Orlando International Airport (MCO).
Participating HMSHost O’Hare restaurants offering B4 You BOARD ordering include Tuscany Café and Chili’s Too! In Terminal 1; Blackhawks Restaurant & Bar in Terminal 2; and Wolfgang Puck Café and Chili’s Too! in Terminal 3. The selection includes breakfast, lunch and dinner offerings, as well as appetizers and desserts.
“B4 YOU BOARD was designed and launched first at JFK International Airport, followed by Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, and now ORD, to make great food available to travelers on-the-go as they navigate the airport. We believe it will be extremely popular at all of these airports as we approach this busy travel time of the year,” said HMSHost’s Vice President of Business Development Joe Waller.
