PORTLAND, OR—HMSHost, global leader in food, beverage and retail services for travelers, and Portland International Airport (PDX) celebrated today the grand opening of several new retail locations including The Market, The Oregonian News, Rich’s News and Kiehl’s.
“We are very excited to be bringing these popular brands to our airport,” said Chris Madsen, General Manager of Business & Properties for Port of Portland. “These new locations will provide our guests with top-quality offerings, from both local and national favorite brand names.”
The Market, inspired by the healthy lifestyle of Portland, brings to PDX all that the locals love—a fresh and natural environment created with vibrant green color, and a backdrop of natural recycled materials. Travelers are met with a sense of calm as they browse the wide selection of health and wellness offerings, including products by Gaiam and fresh salads and sandwiches from Portland’s own Elephant’s Delicatessen.
The Oregonian News, a local staple, brings travelers all their on-the-go favorites, from snacks to the day’s latest news. The Oregonian has been Portland’s trusted source of news and information for more than 160 years, and is known for its Pulitzer Prize-winning stories. Rich’s News, an exclusive brand developed for PDX in partnership with Portland’s 100-year old Rich’s Cigar Store and Magazines, offers travelers a warm and inviting venue in which they can explore numerous best-sellers, magazines and local gifts.
Old-world apothecary, Kiehl’s, brings travelers a new experience in skin and hair care. True to its heritage, Kiehl’s at PDX welcomes travelers into a warm and natural limestone entrance, where they are invited to explore products formulated from nature’s finest ingredients.
“These new retail locations will bring travelers all their favorite offerings with the convenience needed when you’re about to catch a flight,” said HMSHost Vice President of Business Development, Renee Tedesco.
“We’re very pleased to be able to work with Portland International Airport to deliver the best of the local area, with brands that travelers know and love.”
HMSHost employs more than 195 associates in 11 locations at Portland International Airport. In addition to these four new locations, HMSHost also operates Gustav’s Pub &Grill, Rogue, Rose’s Restaurant and Bakery and Starbucks.
