HMSHost has partnered with Chef Mike Isabella to welcome travelers at Ronald Reagan National Airport with Kapnos Taverna, a look toward the Aegean Sea with its coastal Greek inspired menu, exuding an expansiveness and freshness that travelers crave in the midst of airport chaos. Chef Isabella showcases his culinary alchemy through a tightly focused gallery of small plates known as mezze in Greek. The ambiance breathes a warm, energetic vibe—touches of teal and blue lending a distinctive feel of coastal Greece.

Spreads

Guests can dress stone-baked flatbread with classic spreads such as tzatziki made with yogurt, cucumber, dill, citrus, hummus, and melitzanosalata—smoky eggplant, roasted peppers, walnuts, and feta.

Cold Mezze features smoky beets in yogurt with citrus, a farm house vegetable salad with feta cheese and red wine vinaigrette, and a selection of spicy olives with marcona almonds. Alternatively, guests can explore selections of Garden Mezze including grilled asparagus with sundried tomato and cured lemon, and fava: yellow lentils, corn, spinach, and pearl onions.
