CREAM Brings Ice Cream Sandwich Treats to Anchorage International Airport
HMSHost adds first airport location for premium ice cream sandwich brand
ANCHORAGE – Celebrated ice cream sandwich maker CREAM (aka “Cookies Rule Everything Around Me”) teamed up with global restaurateur HMSHost, along with joint venture partner Bryner Chen of Chen Alaska Inc., to bring its super-premium ice cream to Alaska. CREAM has launched not one, but two locations inside Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport – one is pre-security and the other is in the post-security main terminal. At CREAM, travelers and airport visitors alike can scoop up the Instagram-able brand’s unique, handcrafted ice cream sandwiches. The new shops not only mark CREAM’s first Alaska locations, but also its debut into the airport.
CREAM: THE FROZEN FRONTIER
CREAM at Anchorage International Airport offers ice cream sandwiches that are made-to-order or pre-packaged and ready to eat on-the-go. Guests looking to make their perfect combo can choose between two warm cookies, brownies or fresh-off-the-griddle waffles stuffed with a heaping scoop of CREAM’s signature ice cream flavors such as Birthday Cake, Cookies & Cream and Salted Caramel, with an option to add Gummi Bears, mini chocolate chips, or a variety of other toppings.
The two airport locations also offer CREAM floats, malts, milkshakes, sundaes, and waffle cones which are made fresh on-site, in addition to cookies and sandwiches conveniently packed and ready to enjoy on the plane. Gus Shamieh, president and co-founder of CREAM says, “We could not be more excited to work with airport dining powerhouse HMSHost to give travelers across the globe the opportunity to enjoy our handcrafted ice cream creations.”
Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport Concessions Manager Javier Robinson said, “We’re excited to work with HMSHost to continue developing additional food and beverage options to the traveling public and our residents who visit us.”
“CREAM offers an unexpected experience in the airport, serving made-to-order ice cream sandwiches with freshly baked goods to Anchorage visitors and locals,” said HMSHost Vice President of Business Development Stephen Douglas. “We are thrilled to work with the Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport team to introduce this fast-growing ice cream shop for Alaskan travelers to enjoy all year long.”
With 32 locations across the U.S., CREAM has been putting smiles on faces with its handcrafted ice cream sandwiches, shakes, cakes and sundaes since 2010. Co-founded in Berkeley, Calif., by father-and-son duo Jimmy and Gus Shamieh, CREAM began offering franchise opportunities in 2012, and is a rapidly growing franchise organization that embodies the ideal intersection of a family-owned and professionally run business.
