HMSHost Celebrates the Opening of Three New Restaurants at San Diego International Airport

SAN DIEGO, CA – Global restaurateur HMSHost and San Diego International Airport are bringing All-American favorites, and even a bit of bubbly, to travelers with three new restaurant openings as part of the airport’s eagerly awaited Green Build expansion of Terminal 2 West. HMSHost has opened Tommy V’s Pizzeria in partnership with local chef and restaurateur Tomaso Maggiore, as well as two of its own restaurants, Bubbles Seafood & Wine Bar and Seaside Stack Shack.

“We are looking forward to introducing travelers to these three new restaurants in our Sunset Cove concessions area,” said Nyle Marmion, manager of San Diego Airport’s Concession Development Program. “Partnering with HMSHost, we’ll be able to provide even more variety for travelers looking for a great meal or a drink before catching their flight.”

Local chef Tomaso Maggiore’s and HMSHost’s restaurant Tommy V’s Pizzeria brings the flavor, freshness and simplicity of Maggiore’s Italian cooking right to the airport. His authentic Pizza Margherita featuring Fior di Latte Mozzarella, San Marzano tomatoes, fresh basil and extra virgin olive oil is sure to please travelers just as it has done so for guests at his street side restaurants. Chef Maggiore also has an impressive selection of fresh salads like Tommy’s Chopped Salad with mozzarella, tomatoes, hearts of palm, red onion and olives tossed with a house-made herb dressing. Early birds will be able to sample a signature breakfast pizza, created especially for the San Diego Airport Tommy V’s location.

Seaside Stack Shack is a casual gourmet restaurant by HMSHost that offers fresh, natural and local ingredients. Travelers will have their choice between all-natural beef, all-natural turkey or a house-made vegan veggie patty. Travelers will find imaginative burgers such as The Gaslamp Burger, featuring Beehive cheddar cheese and locally cured SunRise Ranch bacon, and the Mexican-inspired Pacific Beach burger, embellished with refried beans and a spicy pico de gallo salsa.

HMSHost’s Bubbles Seafood & Wine Bar entices travelers with a range of excellent wines, boutique beers and of course Champagne, for which the bar is aptly named, together with a delicious small plate menu. The menu features creative dishes such as grilled vegetables served with cilantro pesto and anchovy chili dip, and smoked salmon roasted with garlic-lemon crème, capers and a red onion salad served with bagel slices. Dessert features include a chocolate truffle plate with Canadian fruit wine sauce.

Tommy V’s Pizzeria, Seaside Stack Shack and Bubbles are the latest additions to the restaurants HMSHost is opening at San Diego International Airport. Craft Brews on 30th recently celebrated its opening, and PGA Tour Grill, Beaudevin, Garden by Tender Greens and Emerald Express will be opening over the next several months.
