HMSHost Recognized as North American Travel Dining Leader with Prestigious Airports Council International-North America Awards

HMSHost awarded First Place for Best New Full Service Food and Beverage Concept, Best Green Concession Practice or Concept

BETHESDA, MD — Global restaurateur HMSHost was honored with multiple awards at this week’s 2018 Airports Council International-North America (ACI-NA) Excellence in Airport Concessions Awards that celebrates success and innovation in commercial programs at North American airports. HMSHost honors include:

  • Best New Food and Beverage Concept (Full-Service) – Book & Bourbon Southern Kitchen at Louisville International Airport
  • Best Green Concession Practice or Concept – Bistrot at Montréal-Trudeau International Airport
  • Best New National Brand Concept, 2nd Place – Shake Shack at Los Angeles International Airport

The awards were announced at the 2018 Business of Airports Conference in Portland, Oregon. The conference is the industry’s forum to help airports and stakeholders better understand the evolving airport business model.  

About Book & Bourbon Southern Kitchen – Located in the pre-security Main Terminal at Louisville International Airport, Book & Bourbon Southern Kitchen is a toast to Kentucky’s deep and rich bourbon heritage, showcasing the state’s renowned bourbon distilling heritage and products for visitors from all over the world. Guests can peruse a list of more than 85 world-class, homegrown bourbons including several rare labels. The menu offers upscale comfort dishes that are based on regional influences and big flavor. It’s southern cooking with a modern twist.

About Shake Shack – Shake Shack is a critically acclaimed, modern day “roadside” burger stand known for its 100% all-natural Angus beef burgers, griddled-crisp flat-top dogs, fresh-made frozen custard, crinkle cut fries, craft beer, wine, and more. HMSHost brought Shake Shack, a brand with a cult-like following around the world, to Los Angeles International Airport’s Terminal 4. Through a development agreement, HMSHost will open additional Shake Shacks in the coming years including at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, and Mineta San José International Airport.  

About Bistrot – Located in Montréal-Trudeau International Airport, Bistrot is a European-influenced market/café featuring multiple local purveyors, making it the ideal place for lovers of exceptional food that represents the local region. Bistrot is reminiscent of a welcoming urban market showcasing multiple food stations, a bounty of street food fare, a live pasta station, and a world class café component that appeal to Montréal-Trudeau’s diverse, global travelers.
