HMSHost Culinary Leader Chef Jeff Steelman Judges TNT’s Hit Cooking Show On The Menu With Sammy Hagar, Emeril Lagasse, And Ty Pennington
Winning dish to be featured in Sammy’s Beach Bar & Grill Airport Restaurants
BETHESDA, MD—The culinary mastermind behind so much of the dining innovation found in airports today, Chef Jeff Steelman of global restaurateur HMSHost, appeared as a judge on TNT’s revolutionary new cooking show On The Menu on Friday, November 14, 2014. Fellow judges included celebrity Chef Emeril Lagasse and rock & roll legend, restaurateur, and HMSHost partner Sammy Hagar. Hosted by Ty Pennington, On The Menu is a cooking competition reality show where passionate, everyday cooks go head-to-head for the chance to have their creation featured on the menu of a different select restaurant represented on each episode. The winning dish appears on the menu of the participating restaurant beginning the day after the related episode airs, and continues for 60 days.
Sammy’s Beach Bar & Grill, by Sammy Hagar and HMSHost, was featured on the November 14th episode of On The Menu. The winning dish, a Shrimp Enchilada Stack, was prepared by Tamara Coleman. Beginning on November 15th, the dish will be served at the four airport locations in which Sammy’s Beach Bar & Grill operates, including:
- Cleveland Hopkins International Airport
- Las Vegas International Airport
- John F. Kennedy International Airport
- Kahului International Airport

The addition of this sensational new culinary creation aligns with the elevated standards of airport dining pioneered by HMSHost, reestablishing airports as dining destinations with serious eats.
“The dish was absolutely delicious and fits perfectly into our existing menu, can’t wait for the fans to taste it,” said Sammy Hagar.
Sammy’s Beach Bar & Grill is a celebration of great food and music and has the ambiance of a beach vacation mixed with a dash of rock ‘n’ roll energy. The eclectic décor of the airport restaurants features guitars, surfboards, and music memorabilia. The restaurants don’t just look bright– so does the menu, with recipes by some of Sammy’s favorite friends and celebrity chefs. Sammy Hagar also donates a portion of his profits from these restaurants to food banks and children’s charities through his Hagar Family Foundation.
