HMSHost Celebrates Grand Opening of Ecco Tapas and Wine Bar at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport

Local favorite Atlanta restaurant meets airport travelers

ATLANTA, GA—If you are familiar with the restaurant scene in Atlanta, then you have likely been to, or at least heard of,Ecco, a highly celebrated midtown restaurant developed by Atlanta’s Fifth Group Restaurants. Now, for the first time ever, global restaurateur HMSHost will make the Ecco ambiance, seasonally-inspired European cuisine, and prized wine lists available to travelers of Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport’s Concourse F. Visitors can now get a glimpse of upscale Atlanta-style dining as soon as they reach the airport thanks to a licensing agreement between Fifth Group Restaurants and HMSHost. Grand opening celebrations for Ecco were held today at the airport.

“This new restaurant is a fascinating rebirth of the original Ecco, and it is an excellent addition to the Hartsfield-Jackson dining experience,” said Roosevelt Council, Deputy General Manager, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. “It is a place in which travelers will truly enjoy spending time.”

Established in the heart of the concourse, Ecco has an upscale ambiance with plentiful seating. The restaurant’s design is European-inspired and the combined effect of the atmosphere, service, and food creates a comfortable place for a respite from your journey. Travelers will be able to relax at Ecco with a small plate or a full meal and a glass of an intriguing wine or signature cocktail.

“HMSHost is excited to be working with Fifth Group Restaurants to introduce the mouth-watering offerings of Ecco to international travelers at the world’s busiest airport,” said Anthony Alessi, Vice President of Business Development at HMSHost. “Ecco’s menu will thrill travelers before taking off with an assortment of savory offerings and delicious drinks.”

“Since first opening in 2006, Ecco has grown to become a symbol of hospitality and dining in the Southeast. Delivering that experience to Fifth Group’s hometown airport in Atlanta is very exciting,” said Robby Kukler, Partner, Fifth Group Restaurants. “Concourse F is a perfect fit for Ecco because travelers will be exposed to some of Atlanta’s local flair and Atlantans will find something which they already love.”

Ecco’s menu provides travelers with a tough choice between options such as Prosciutto di Parma, a 16 month ham, and Bresaola, a house-cured organic pork shoulder. Cheeses such as Cloth-Bound Cheddar, La Chevrot, and Fontina Val D’Aosta are equally as unique and flavorful. Meats and cheeses can be combined to make a custom charcuterie board. For those with a larger appetite, panini sandwiches, authentic pastas and stone oven fired pizzas make for a hearty meal. Delectable desserts like Crème Catalan and house made ice creams complete the meal.

The wine list is well organized and structured so that it is truly an enhancement to the dining experience. Travelers will have a highly relaxed opportunity to try Old and New-World wines as part of Ecco’s unique and extensive wine list. Ecco’s attitude toward the enjoyment of wine is relaxed and is based on guest satisfaction and great food pairing in an atmosphere where guests are encouraged to try new wines.
