Company’s startsomewhere Program Recognized for Excellence in Sustainability Efforts
CHICAGO, IL —Global restaurateur HMSHost is the proud recipient of the 2012 Airports Going Green Award for the company’s startsomewhere sustainability program. The award was presented during a luncheon at the 5th Annual Airports Going Green Conference held in Chicago.
The Airports Going Green Conference is co-hosted by the City of Chicago Department of Aviation and the American Association of Airport Executives. As the industry’s premier event for development, communication, and active discussions of sustainability inititiatives, the conference attracts over 300 airport executives and managers, as well as aviation industry experts from around the world.
“It is a tremendous honor to be recognized as an industry leader in sustainability for the HMSHost startsomewhere program,” said Linda Dunn, Vice President of Supply Chain at HMSHost. “We would like to thank the City of Chicago Department of Aviation and the American Association of Airport Executives for recognizing the positive impact that the startsomewhere program has made to the industry’s sustainability efforts over the past year.”
This important recognition demonstrates HMSHost’s strong industry leadership and dedication to sustainability efforts in the aviation industry. The startsomewhere program recognizes that it takes many small acts to help build a better future and that everyone must “start somewhere” in their efforts. The program focuses on three key initiatives: reducing HMSHost’s environmental impact, providing food and beverage options that address nutritional wellness, and partnering with the communities that HMSHost serves to help build a better future for everyone.
