New Restaurants by HMSHost at George Bush Intercontinental Airport Mean New Seafood, Pit Bbq, Tex-Mex, Gourmet Pizza, Lattes and More for Houston Travelers

Fifteen restaurants and six Starbucks to open

HOUSTON, TX — Global restaurateur HMSHost announced today that it has been awarded a contract to open 15 new restaurants and six new Starbucks in George Bush Intercontinental Airport, throughout Terminals A, B, C, and D. Nearly all of the locations are part of a joint venture with HMSHost’s longtime partner and pillar of the Houston community, The Houston 8 Team, LLC. The new dining locations are scheduled to open by early 2016.

Before you know it, Houston travelers will have access to restaurants representing the area’s most iconic Houston flavors and chef-driven dining experiences, no matter where they are in the airport, along with national favorites.

HMSHost will introduce labels offering locally-inspired cuisine, such as Landry’s Seafood, EL Real, Ray’s BBQ, and The Breakfast Klub Express; restaurants like Cadillac Mexican Kitchen and Bar and Hugo’s Cocina, which specialize in recipes typical of the Mexican food & wine traditions; brands like Red Mango, Chick-fil-A and Blaze Pizza, offering products suitable for faster meals, and labels like American Craft Tavern and Mockingbird Distillery & Smokehouse, providing refined food, brew, and cocktail solutions for slower enjoyment. Six new Starbucks locations will also be conveniently located throughout the airport, which represent guaranteed quality for coffee lovers worldwide.

“We were looking for great service support on the frontline or in the after-sale period —attentive standby assistance and no-questions asked return policies, as examples,” Houston Aviation Director Mario C. Diaz said. “This new lineup of choices offers world-class products, world-class service, and a world-class feel to a city and airports that are recognized for growth and innovation world-wide.”

“We are honored that Houston Airport System has selected HMSHost as the operator for these dining spaces and we are thrilled about the new group of restaurants we are bringing to travelers and what they represent,” said HMSHost Vice President of Business Development Anthony Alessi. “Our partners at the airport, with each local restaurateur, and our local partner group, The Houston 8, have made possible a new set of dining options that truly raises the bar. These restaurants and the great food they serve will capture for travelers Houston’s diverse and exciting culinary flavors.”

In addition to the upgrades coming to George Bush Intercontinental Airport, HMSHost will also enter Houston’s William P. Hobby International Airport for the first time, with a new Starbucks, giving travelers to all of the Houston Airport System access to the most iconic coffee brand in America.
