Now Arriving: Airport Restaurant Month’s Spring Culinary Experience
HMSHost unveils exclusive seasonal menus at more than 60 airport restaurants
Spring travel brings a bloom of new culinary experiences to travelers with Airport Restaurant Month. Book your ticket and head to the airport to savor this spring’s traveler foodie event by global restaurateur HMSHost.
Airport Restaurant Month is a unique take on the popular street-side restaurant week concept, but HMSHost has customized it for travelers, bringing an unmatched and uncommon culinary experience into the airport. This May, more than 60 restaurants across dozens of North American airports are participating.
“This unique dining event takes travelers on a culinary trip of flavors before they even begin their travels,” said HMSHost Vice President of Culinary Jeff Steelman. “This Airport Restaurant Month, our chefs came together in the kitchen and were inspired by the abundance of spring produce, some of the latest food trends, and unique takes on travelers’ favorite meals to craft creative menus for an elevated airport dining experience.”
This May’s Airport Restaurant Month menu gives travelers a variety of offerings – from hearty meals to lighter options. To spotlight different restaurants’ unique culinary offerings, individual restaurants offer special customized tasting menus that spotlight their own flavors and trends.
Travelers can choose from a selection of three appetizers and four entrees. While menus may vary by restaurant, some of the core Airport Restaurant Month dishes travelers can experience include:
- Seared Salmon served with honey roasted carrots, pesto yogurt, feta and Italian parsley.
- Flatbread Prima Vera served on naan bread topped with zesty marinara, mozzarella, along with fresh vegetables including zucchini, red pepper, onion, and mushrooms.
- AM Wrap featuring a tortilla stuffed with fluffy scrambled eggs, sausage, Monterey jack cheese, and salsa.
- The Spicy Slaw Burger topped with cheddar cheese and a carrot jalapeno slaw served on a toasted bun.
- Buttermilk Fried Chicken Sandwich served with Sriracha mayo, pickles, shredded iceberg lettuce on a toasted bun.
Each of the above dishes come with a choice of appetizers including: a Green Goddess Wedge with grape tomatoes, garlic croutons, and a creamy avocado dressing; the English Cucumber Salad with red wine vinegar, olive oil, and shaved onion; or a fresh seasonal fruit salad. In addition, each traveler who orders an Airport Restaurant Month dish this month will also receive a dark chocolate sea salt bar to enjoy on their flight.
To expedite the dining experience for busy travelers, HMSHost’s award-winning culinary team created the single-plated menus specifically with a traveler’s need for speed of service in mind.
Adding another layer to enhance the traveler dining experience, a special Airport Restaurant Month cocktail was created exclusively for the month of May – the Getaway Gimlet, a refreshing spring take on the traditional gin gimlet cocktail.
