Boise Start-Up be Free Village Teams With HMSHost to Bring Gluten-Free Products to Boise Airport

Travelers will now find a wide variety of healthy, on-the-go, gluten-free products

BOISE, ID – Be Free Village, a startup company formed out of the Boise Metro Chamber of Commerce b|launched competition, celebrated today its expansion to include a new location where gluten-free food offerings are available to on-the-go travelers. Be Free Village has partnered with global restaurateur HMSHost to bring its unique brand of travel snacks to Boise Airport. Travelers can now find this exciting new offering at two separate Moxie Java locations inside the airport – one is located pre-security in the 2nd Floor Rotunda and the other in Concourse C.

“We are thrilled that the Boise Airport is supporting a local Boise startup and couldn’t be happier to have a partner like HMSHost to help us get started in the airport industry,” explains Lisa Bloomquist, one of seven Co-Founders for Be Free Village. “The b|launched program has given us the opportunity to find a need, and launch a company that will help travelers have easier access to gluten-free products and resources.”

As the winner of the Boise Metro Chamber of Commerce’s 2012 b|launched program, Be Free Village has quickly gained popularity and is rapidly expanding. Be Free Village is focused on revolutionizing the way gluten-free people travel by creating nutritionally balanced and tasty gluten-free meal boxes. In addition to its new locations at the Boise Airport, Be Free Village also sells its products in a growing list of local hotels.

“With an increased focus in today’s world on healthy and gluten-free dining options, Be Free Village is a perfect addition to HMSHost’s offerings at Boise Airport,” said Joe Waller, Vice President of Business Development at HMSHost. “Be Free Village is growing rapidly and we couldn’t be happier to help them get their start in the airport market.”

Boise City Council member Lauren McLean expands, “Boise’s airport provides a great opportunity for us to showcase local companies, serve local foods, and extend the unique Boise experience to visitors and citizens alike – as they land or leave. Be Free Village is quintessential Boise: an innovative startup supported by the local entrepreneurial community that successfully combined an understanding of unique dietary needs and business acumen. They’re a great addition to our Boise-based offerings at the airport.”

Travelers will be able to select from a wide range of products, including the “Have it All Box,” Be Free Village’s flagship gluten-free meal box, which includes five gluten-free snack items – Wild Garden Sun-Dried Tomato Hummus; Wheat-Free, Gluten-Free Original Crackers from Mary’s Gone Crackers; Glazed Pomegranate Cashews from Sahale Snacks; Apple Cinnamon Crisps from Brothers-All-Natural; and 66% Dark Cacao with Orange from Be Free Village, powered by Good Cacao.
