HMSHost’s Airport Restaurant Month Goes Across the Atlantic This Spring
Nearly 90 North American and European airport restaurants participate in innovative culinary event for travelers
BETHESDA, MD — Back by popular demand for the full month of May, Airport Restaurant Month by global restaurateur HMSHost is now expanding overseas, to be featured in nearly 90 participating restaurants among more than 50 airports across North America and Europe.
Given its extreme success and traveler enthusiasm since launching at North American airports in October 2014, Airport Restaurant Month is not only expanding to new airports throughout North America this year, but has spread for the first time to airport restaurant locations in Europe. This includes restaurants operated by HMSHost’s parent company, Autogrill, at Brussels Airport, Zürich Airport, and Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino Airport in Rome.
With HMSHost’s Airport Restaurant Month, popular street side restaurants are no longer the only dining venues that are able to show off their culinary skills during that special week known as Restaurant Week.
“HMSHost created the first of its kind monthly holiday because one week isn’t enough to celebrate our culinary creativity,” said HMSHost Vice President of Marketing Atousa Ghoreichi. “We are thrilled that the success of Airport Restaurant Month at North American airports has resulted in a global launch this May where travelers in select airports in Europe can now experience this month-long culinary event.”
Each restaurant location can customize its Airport Restaurant Month menu based on specially created dishes by HMSHost’s corporate executive chef and culinary team. Each dish is beautifully presented just like you would find with streetside dining. Guests will receive a choice of entrée, accompanied by several side dishes. Some of the dishes travelers will find include Rosemary grilled shrimp; flat iron steak; parmesan-crusted chicken; and a baked Portobello mushroom.
